If you made it to the end of Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé on Netflix, you may have heard her catchy new song "Before I Let Go." The song plays during the concert film's end credits and appears at the end of Beyonce's "Homecoming Live" album, which surprised dropped at the same time as the film. While Beyonce's "Before I Let Go" is undoubtedly a straight bop, it may sound familiar to diehard music fans: according to Rolling Stone, Beyonce's version is actually a cover of a 1981 single by Maze, Frankie Beverly's Philadelphia-based soul band.

"Before I Let Go" is one of two bonus tracks released on Beyonce's "Homecoming: The Live Album" (the second being the rap-heavy "I Been On"). With its high energy drum beat, catchy lyrics, and horn-filled background, "Before I Let Go" is a great addition to Homecoming, both the film and the album. If only Beyonce performed this single at Coachella, as well… *sigh.* Additional songs on Beyonce's "Homecoming" album include live versions of hits like "Formation," "Crazy in Love," "7/11," "Diva," and more. Who needs Coachella tickets when you have a behind-the-scenes doc and a live album?

The surprise "Homecoming: The Live Album" drop has led many fans to believe that Beyonce will release her next album, "B7" without warning, as well. According to Variety, earlier on Wednesday, Lyrics website Genius had listed April 18, 2019 as the "B7" release date, but the listing has since been taken down (searches for "B7" now link to the track page for "Homecoming: Live").
